Dr. Zhang Jianxing Elected Vice President of the Electrical Branch of Huazhong University of Science and Technology Shanghai Alumni Association

Recently, the inaugural meeting of the Electrical Branch of the Shanghai Alumni Association of Huazhong University of Science and Technology was held in Shanghai. During the meeting, members of the Electrical Branch's board of directors were elected. Dr. Zhang Jianxing, the company founder, attended the event and was subsequently appointed as the vice chairman of the board.
Electrical Engineering is a key department at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and for many years, it has been driven by major national needs and cutting-edge advancements in the field, undertaking numerous significant national research projects. In Shanghai alone, over 3,000 HUST alumni are actively working in electrical-related fields, spanning industries such as power generation, grid management, transportation, healthcare, equipment manufacturing, and engineering design and implementation. The establishment of the Electrical Branch of the HUST Shanghai Alumni Association aims to create a platform where alumni can support one another, learn from each other, and collectively advance their careers. At this inaugural meeting, renowned HUST alumni—including Academician Pan Yan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Academician Cheng Shijie of the Chinese Academy of Sciences—were invited to serve as honorary chairpersons. During the founding ceremony, prominent experts like Academician Rao Hong, an IEEE Fellow and Chief Technical Expert at China Southern Power Grid Company, as well as Prof. Wen Jingyu, Dean of the School of Electrical and Power Engineering, delivered keynote speeches.
Dr. Zhang Jianxing earned his bachelor’s and doctoral degrees in Electrical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. After graduation, he has spent many years working in the State Grid Corporation and the electric vehicle industry, leading innovative R&D efforts and managing business operations in electrical engineering-related products. Through this extensive experience, he has cultivated deep industry expertise and valuable market connections. Commenting on his recent election as Vice President, Dr. Zhang expressed his commitment to providing robust services such as resource sharing and fostering strong inter-institutional and alumni networks. He emphasized his dedication to collaborating closely with universities, enterprises, and fellow alumni—working together hand-in-hand toward mutual growth—and contributing actively to the advancement of the electrical engineering, energy storage, and smart grid sectors.
