The three group standards, including the "Monitoring System Testing Specifications for Electrochemical Energy Storage Power Stations," jointly developed with Yunneng Magic Cube, have been officially released.
Published:2023-04-03
Recently, the group standards "Test Specification for Monitoring Systems of Electrochemical Energy Storage Power Stations (TCES 171-2022)," "Test Specification for Lithium-Ion Battery Management Systems Used in Energy Storage Power Stations (TCES 172-2022)," and "Test Specification for Lithium-Ion Battery Energy Storage Modules (TCES 174-2022)," which Yunneng Magic Cube helped draft and compile, were officially released by the China Electrotechnical Society. These three newly issued group standards were jointly developed under the initiative of the China Electrotechnical Society, with contributions from companies including State Grid Comprehensive Energy Service Group Co., Ltd., State Grid Times Energy Storage Development Co., Ltd., and Yunneng Magic Cube.

As the domestic energy storage power station market rapidly expands, there is an urgent need to standardize and guide testing criteria for electrochemical energy storage monitoring systems, lithium-ion battery energy storage modules, and lithium-ion battery management systems tailored for energy storage stations. As a leader and technology powerhouse in the fields of distributed energy storage and smart grids, Yuneng Magic Cube has been invited by the China Electrotechnical Society to collaborate with entities such as State Grid Integrated Energy Service Group and State Grid Times, jointly drafting and successfully completing the development of these relevant testing standards.
The "Inspection Specification for Electrochemical Energy Storage Power Station Monitoring Systems" outlines the relevant testing conditions, content, and methods, providing a basis for evaluating electrochemical energy storage power station monitoring systems. It standardizes the experimental testing procedures for key performance indicators, establishing a comprehensive assessment and evaluation framework to promote the large-scale and commercial development of electrochemical energy storage technology. The "Inspection Specification for Lithium-Ion Battery Energy Storage Modules" defines the testing conditions, equipment, test items, and methodologies specific to lithium-ion battery energy storage modules. It systematically organizes and summarizes all inspection approaches, while also proposing targeted technical requirements tailored to address industry needs. The "Inspection Specification for Lithium-Ion Battery Management Systems Used in Energy Storage Power Stations" fills a critical gap by providing standardized testing criteria for battery management systems. This specification offers methodological guidelines for product type tests, factory inspections, and pre-commissioning acceptance checks, thereby delivering essential technical support to ensure the safe and stable operation of lithium-ion battery-based energy storage systems.

The Yunneng Magic Cube technology team boasts over 20 years of technical expertise in the power industry. They have led the development of more than ten national and industry standards, participated in the Ministry of Science and Technology’s 863 Project, and the company has now secured over 20 national technology patents.
Yuneng Magic Cube has introduced its next-generation "6S+EDR" nuclear-grade safety energy storage system, an innovative solution that redefines the traditional "PCS, BMS, and EMS": The modular PCS features a string-based multi-branch design, enabling electrical and thermal isolation while significantly boosting charge/discharge efficiency, dramatically increasing both charging/discharging capacity and system availability. Meanwhile, the open-access BMS incorporates plug-in temperature sensors and PACK-level fire suppression linkage, effectively preventing battery pack fires, along with iterative data algorithms and remote OTA upgrades—enhancing algorithm accuracy with pinpoint precision. Additionally, the flexible EMS implements system-level, zone-based safety management and dynamic, intelligent control mechanisms, efficiently containing the scope of potential incidents. To further elevate performance, the system also introduces new subsystems—HCS, BWS, ASS, and EDR—which collectively enhance the safety, intelligence, and grid compatibility of distributed energy storage products. By seamlessly integrating cutting-edge technologies such as the Power IoT, artificial intelligence, and edge cloud computing with advanced energy storage solutions and conventional power system control and protection techniques, Yuneng Magic Cube underscores its team’s profound technical expertise and unwavering commitment to innovation and R&D excellence.
Next, Yuneng Magic Cube will uphold its corporate mission of "continuously driving technological innovation to enable the efficient utilization of clean energy," and will steadily advance the development of industry-standard systems related to energy storage, providing critical technological support to help achieve the dual-carbon goals at an early date.
