Yuneng Magic Cube Secures Overseas 140 MWh Order, Boosting the Development of Large-Scale Grid-Connected Energy Storage Projects in Germany

Published:2026-03-31

On March 31, CECB and its German partners signed a cooperation agreement at the Xuchang manufacturing base, under which CECB will supply grid-scale large-scale energy storage systems with a total capacity of 140 MWh for two critical nodes in the German power grid. This agreement will accelerate the development of large-scale grid-level energy storage projects in Germany, providing robust support for enhancing the resilience and reliability of the regional power grid, while further strengthening CECB’s brand presence in overseas energy storage markets.

CECB will provide comprehensive grid-scale energy storage solutions and turnkey energy storage system equipment for two projects, which are expected to be delivered and connected to the grid by the end of 2026.

Grid-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) are the cornerstone of Europe’s energy transition, a strategic linchpin for ensuring regional grid security and achieving energy independence, and an indispensable component in building a new power system.

Drawing on the specific conditions of each project, Cloud Energy Cube (CECB) has developed a highly tailored, grid-scale large-scale energy storage solution centered around five core pillars: grid-forming grid-connection capability, market-based trading, support for renewable energy integration, regulatory compliance, and high safety and reliability. The solution delivers outstanding overall performance, with notable advantages such as safe and efficient operation, flexible adaptability, and stable scalability. It adopts an advanced grid-forming architecture that enhances grid stability and flexibility, enabling millisecond-level response and rapid adjustment of active and reactive power; improves the capacity to accommodate renewable energy through coordinated dispatch of wind, solar, and storage resources, thereby smoothing the intermittency and volatility of wind and solar generation; provides critical capacity support by discharging during peak demand periods to alleviate transmission and distribution congestion; and ensures system safety and resilience, including black-start capability and assistance in fault recovery.

Leveraging the core hardware and software technology advantages of Cloud Energy Cube as well as the strong technical expertise of the State Grid Corporation’s engineering team, and backed by its robust sales and service network, Cloud Energy Cube (CECB) has successfully implemented and delivered solar-plus-storage power plants and solar-plus-storage-charging projects in multiple countries and regions, including Malaysia, South Africa, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The signing of this German project marks a significant milestone in CECB’s development of large-scale grid-level energy storage systems across Europe. Moving forward, CECB will continue to expand its sales and service footprint throughout Europe, further enhancing the regional influence of its brand.

Looking ahead, Cloud Energy Cube (CECB) will continue to deepen its presence in the European market, leveraging ongoing technological innovation to deliver high-quality products and services that provide stable and reliable support for the large-scale deployment of renewable energy in Europe, thereby accelerating the global transition to clean energy.
